This is the story of ‘The People, The Places and The Planes’. From 1960 to 1986 the airline
faithfully served the people of South Australia.

The book provides a summary of important dates in aviation history in SA, the story of Guinea Airways mainland operations, passenger and staff oral stories, routes and ports served histories, fleet lists and competitors. Relive the nostalgia of the era and read the stories of ‘the family airline, an airline which was joy to work in and relive the ‘espirit de corps’ that existed amongst the staff.

The book contains approximately 300 pages and is crammed with interesting photographs and memorabilia.

 

 


 

‘The book will cover an extensive range of subjects that pertain to Airlines of South Australia. The aim is to extensively cover the subject from the angle of city and country. Extensive interviews were conducted with
both former ASA staff and passengers. These stories provide many interesting oral history stories of travel
in South Australia between 1960 and 1986.

A background on the development of aviation in SA is provided along with a history of Guinea Airways
(mainland operations) the predecessor of ASA’.
